Life is and adverture game

One of my favorite games when I was going up was MYST. The game begins with the user entering a virtual world. Your task is to figure out where you were, and what you were supposed to do. To do so, you simply explore the world and collect as much information as possible. There are tasks and puzzles to complete, but again, the game does not give you any clues which ones to do, how to do them or what to do with the information. You just figure things out as they happen.
Sounds a bit like life, huh?
Well, the game became my life when I moved to Europe. I had only short term assignments before moving and my first country was Austria. From the moment I exited the plane in Vienna, the game was on. And my task was to figure out the new world and then what I was supposed to do there.
To me I immediately found new gadgets, new people, cultures, traditions. The first day just trying to figure out maps, locks, languages and the hardest task of the day, community laundry. I found myself opening doors, flipping switches, pushing buttons. And as in the game, there were very few instruction manuals available, especially since I couldn’t read German and my new roommate had limited English.
Here starts my journey and I hope to share the stories in order to broaden our experiences, and invite you do to the same……enjoy.
