movie, Disney, thumbs up, Wall-E
Yesterday was an odd day for me. You would think that I'd have adjusted to the time change by now and everything would be fine ...not a chance.
The sun was shining, it was a gorgeous day outside, and I felt like doing as little as possible. What I did do was sit down, turn off the phone and watch a movie.
Wall-E a Disney/Pixar movie is well worth watching!
As usual the animation is done very well but the characterization is done even better. Wall-E is a little robot who's only reason for being is to collect garbage. With a couple of "beeps", a few "boops" and some raising and lowering of his "eyes" a whole story is conveyed.
Wall-E is alone, the earth long abandoned because it is covered with garbage, his only friend a lowly cock roach. On one of his rounds to collect and bale garbage, Wall-E finds the first and only sign of plant life growing in an old boot. Everything takes off from their and I won't tell you more.
Wall-E is a great movie, well worth the rental even worth the purchase price. Kids will love it for the robots and us adults may just see an unfriendly possible future.

turkey, movie, waste of film
I had nothing exciting to do tonight, so I made myself some pop corn and dropped in a disc to watch. I had more fun watching the pop corn than I did watching the movie.
Tropic Thunder was without a doubt one of the biggest wastes of film to ever come out of Hollywood.
I don't know what they were thinking, but this movie had almost no laughs to it, an incredibly dumb plot and some of the worst acting I have sat through in a long time.
How bad is it? I got up many times and didn't miss a damn thing worth watching. Just how anyone could say this is a good movie is way beyond my comprehension. Ben Stiller is the Director, Writer and Executive Producer and star of this turkey; the only funny parts are the fake previews of movies at its start.
Don't waste your time or money.

movie, history, humour
This is probably old news now, but for me it's all new.
I don't follow American politics even though everyone tells me that I should. Perhaps if they stopped telling me to ...I just might.
Want to see more then read on ...

movie, silliness, humour, funny
Careful what you wish for. It may not always be what you expect.

Gladiatress, movie, Ottawa, weather
I've noticed that the hotter it gets, the more I want to just turn off the brain and do as little as possible; that includes thinking. So tonight with the temperature hovering around the 28 degree mark and the humidex making it feel more like 35 degrees, was no exception.
I do have two web sites to get online and curriculum to write for an Adobe Acrobat course but I just don't have the energy or desire to do any of it. Instead I sat in front of a fan and watched one of the dumbest movies ever made.
Gladiatress produced in 2004 is a spoof of the
Gladiator movie starring Russel Crowe. With a tag line of "Does my gluteus maximus look big in this?" I knew this was the movie for my current mood.
As long as you don't expect too much from this flick, you'll get a laugh out of it. If you are looking for historical accuracy and brilliant performances this isn't the movie for you.
The story is a simple one, three sisters (Smirgut the Fierce, Dwyfuc and Worthaboutapig) set out to save Celtic Britain, by thwarting the Roman invasion.
The adventures are silly, some of the jokes crude, all in all worth a rental.
