I'm ready to do it! I have my Quit Plan, everything is in place, and tomorrow I am giving up smoking! Admittedly, it's the same plan I always have, and it hasn't worked so far, but I am one of life's optimists! And this time I have one extra feature to the plan...this group. Somewhere for me to record my progress, and maybe others will join me. Who knows!
What is my quit plan? Well, I have cleaned the house and all my clothes, and last thing tonight I will shower and scrub my mouth free of smoke with bleach and a scouring pad. Okay, maybe just toothpast on a tooth brush.
Tomorrow as soon as I wake up, with me and the house free of any smoky smells, I will brush my teeth again and pop a full strength 4mg Nicoteine tablet in my gob and start chewing like my life depends on it. Some would say it does...
One day of full strength gum, then a day of 2mg gum, and on Thursday I will chew just one piece of 2mg when I wake up, then take the pain of withdrawl! It will be painful, but I just gotta get through it and put a few days behind me.
Then it's all down to will power.....which is where it usually goes wrong! But not this time! I'm just going to keep myself busy, do at least one exercise type thing a day (I think a short walk is fine for day one!) and I'm going to start learning Spanish. Seems like a good idea, I've been living in Mexico for almost nine months :-)
So why not join me? If not today, then soon. There are photo's in the album to give you a little motivation, there is a forum for a chat or to take part in a poll, and if you post a pledge to quit, you get full moderator rights to blog here yourself!
