Vietnamese National Assembly set GDP for 7% in 2009

The session 4 of NA tenure XII starts on Oct 16 until Nov 16, 2008. Normally, the end year session last for 45 days meeting as it is the essential one for target setting for the next year, "but this time, it is shorted to within one month with 26 working days only", stated, Mr. Tran Dinh Dam, member of NA Standing committee cum Chairman of NA office.

The socio-economic issue is among major topic within NA meeting session, CPI is expected to be under 15% for 2009 as NA's suggestion; forestry, agriculture & fishery is expected to increase 3%; construction & industry at 8% and service at 7.8% increasing.
In order to control inflation, export volume is also hope to reach USD 76.7 billion, 18% higher than those expected to be done in 2008. There is no data in trade deficit disclosed.
Investment capital for social development is expected to be at VND 725 trillion (USD 44 billion), accounted for 40% GDP. State budget for 2009 is also expected to soar 4.76% at VND 418 trillion (USD 25.3 billion), while state expenses will be 509.4 trillion.
Apart from hearing and debating on socio-economic issues, NA is also expected to approve 8 bills on: Land Transportation; Bio-diversification; High Technology; Cadres & Publics servants; Civil Jurisdiction execution; Vietnamese Nationality (amended); Health Insurance and bill on Special Consumption tax.
Several reports and reviews will be submitted within one month working of the National Assembly./.
