Be 2% of the Solution!

Earth Day is April 22nd!
What are you thinking about?

Global warming is reversible if we act now!

Be 2% of the solution!

The world's scientists agree: Global warming is real, here, and happening faster than anyone predicted. But scientists also say we can curb global warming and its consequences -- if we take bold, comprehensive action now that adds up to an 80% cut in carbon emissions by 2050. That's a do-able 2% cut a year for each of the next forty years.

Help The Sierra Club fight global warming!

Please click here to sign a petition against global warming which will be sent to the U.S. president: You do not have to be from the U.S. to sign! The penguins thank you; the future generations thank you!

Hmmmm.... if you cut 2% of the current level each year, you would have to cut the emissions by a higher percentage of actual emissions every year, so the last of those 40 years you need to cut it by as much as 9% (2 of the remaining 22% of current emissions). That sounds far from simple to me.

In fact, if you want to cut emissions by the same percentage every year and obtain a 80% reduction after 40 years, you need to cut emissions by 4% every year. Maybe doable, but much tougher than 2
