What Is The Linux Penguin Coming To?????

Well actually thats the nature of Linux, you can port Linux to anything even windows. But just try to do the oposite. If OS concrecte Linux would be liquid concrete that you can mold to whatever while windows is dry concrete which is very different to reshape.

Linux 'parts' have been run on windows since forever with software like Cygwin which emulat the gnu tools which is the ones you will find in windows.

With so many virtualization software you can run any os on anything else (except for OSX). You can run Windows on Linux and Linux on Windows.

did u read the article though? now DELL is starting to run ONLY Linux OS instead of VISTA...they redid all of their computers.

or either that or i'm just not understanding what they mean in the article.

Anyway if that was true it would be a beautiful thing. But no, Dell still sell MS Vista and has that stupid label saying 'Dell recommends windows vista'.

Last week, Dell began shipping PCs with the Linux distribution Ubuntu pre-installed, and on Friday I took a look at Wubi, free Windows software that lets you install and run Ubuntu on your Windows machine without creating a boot CD or partitioning your hard drive.



The line about Dell was an isolated thing, Wubi is a different thing from the Dell statement.
