It´s never too late to live in the present

Moving closer

As I promised in my latest post, I´d move closer to the mysterious floating museum.
I did! Today!

It was strange to walk down the landing and on to the floating museum. I think the main purpose with this museum was a physical way to show the viewer that there are litterally other perspectives. There was an opening at the end wall so you had an exellent view over the water surface...very beautiful
There has been a lot of modern construction- and building sites along the waterlines and harbour fronts in Copenhagen. Offices and appartments made of steel and concrete and glass.
Protests are beginning to surface against the use of the empty spaces along the water at the harbours and canals.

The floating museum was surrounded by poster boards telling the stories about a project protesting against - and surgesting alternative use of the area.

Project office

They even made an alternative City Arms Plate..transforming the towers and building into some kind of Lochness lookalike sea monster :D

I´ll give you a link here so you can read more about the project

That's very creative! I love it. That kind of activism puts a smile on my face - without weakening the message. On the contrary!

@ Jimmy
I think so too Jimmy :D

@ Attila
Yes. In this case the humour is very powerful. Many of my colleagues have heard of them!

@ Allan
Yes! their protests is a kind of art in itself, I think. A wonderful happening

@ Henar
Humour, intelligence, creativity. The combination of these three things is a powerful democratic weapon, I think. And you´re right Henar; simplicity can be very beautiful

There is a lot more to this museum than meets the eye. It even has tables and chairs. I am going to visit the link.

@ Scott
They´re smart. They have an innocent approach, a littele bit of infantile clumsyness and amateurism. It makes ppl feel safe and they are not afraid to move clocer. It´s a smart way of delivering this message :D

@ Elly
Yes, but you might get seasick eating there on a windy day :eyes:
But it was fun being so close to the watersurface, in the middle of a big city

When Getting Seasick at the Floating Museum

When getting seasick at the floating museum
I imagine then I would fall into the bay!
Quite a bit of water pollution I would be
As I am drowning saying "Help me, Hey!"
The environmentalists would be preaching at me.

A poem for you by Elly

I couldn´t imagine a storm- and tornado trooper, like you falling in the water Elly p:
Ayways, the poem is great :D
Thankyou

Glad you enjoy it, Nic

I used to be a storm- and tornado-trooper! Now I watch from the window, until I have to go into the basement when the house and windows start shaking.

Temp went up to 89, though, so hot and muggy! I stayed inside with my daughter and air conditioning.

So, what do you think of the development of the harbor? Are you for or against it?

Copenhagen is a multipatterned carpet of cultures and types of ppl. I like that. Especially when they collide as in this case, at the waterfronts of the big city. I even like some of the ghettos too. It´s like entering a whole different world. I like to be around with the camera to document it
