I´m ready

App. 3 weeks ago I finished painting my window frames. It´s such a nice thing to have done, before winther comes  The frames are now planed, adjusted, chemically protected against rot and painted with fat white paint p: :D furthermore I´ve greased the hinges with acid free fat in order to make
them run silently and smooooothly

Just look at these beauties above. It wasn´t the best of light, but I asure you they are bright and shiney
After finishing my windows I completely rearranged my painters corner. Everything is logisticly in its right place now.

As you can see, the canvas is grounded and flake white. Still nothing on it..but I´m ready. I got the flu some time ago and therefore the sketching has been lousy and blurring so I gave it up for some time. Concentrated on tea drinking and sleeping. Now I feel much better. I hope to be seriously sketching this weekend. I know what I want to paint but it has been a strain to put it on paper. Accuracy is a very important thing in this next painting.so...I really have to be focused and sharpe.

The old Tugboat

Veteranship:
The old tug boat ”Bjørn” has been situated in the inner harbour in front of the old shipyard in Elsinore, for a number of years. It has been build up piece by piece by a group of enthuthiasts.
The leader of the building team thinks the team will be ready with the restauration next year in august. At that time “Bjørn” will be a 100 years old. The old steam machine is tested and proved working.

Windows61

Lack of paint on my window frames has made the frames suck a lot of rainwater and because of that they´ve grown out op proportions. I could hardly open any of them. Had to use an electric planner to down size them again. Now they run smoothly  . Now I´m scraping and scraping and scraping loose paint of. Hope I can ground them and paint them and make a nice finish on them this weekend. It´s old coubled frames with single layer glas in every frame. When I really want to polish all the windows I have 62 surfaces to take care of :faint: But it´s amazing that the construction has an extremely high thermo value  My endwall is app. 75% glass and still I don´t have to turn a lot of heat on during winter. The apartment is warm enough

It´s nice to do something outside. The much work with my painting inside, made me smell like an old sofa :D

Drinking water

My holyday has started. I´ve been extremely busy at work and 90% of my focus has been there last week.
Now I got time to relax completely and think about simple and yet important things  This morning I was amazed by our necessity of water. I live in a part of the world..in a society where you just have to turn a knob, or press a button and the clearest running water, pours out of the tap.
The water of Elsinore tastes really good. There´s a lot of taste in it. The content of calcium is quite high, but the c. carries the taste. The taste is best if you drink it, not too cold mmmhh

Moving closer

As I promised in my latest post, I´d move closer to the mysterious floating museum.
I did! Today!

It was strange to walk down the landing and on to the floating museum. I think the main purpose with this museum was a physical way to show the viewer that there are litterally other perspectives. There was an opening at the end wall so you had an exellent view over the water surface...very beautiful
There has been a lot of modern construction- and building sites along the waterlines and harbour fronts in Copenhagen. Offices and appartments made of steel and concrete and glass.
Protests are beginning to surface against the use of the empty spaces along the water at the harbours and canals.

The floating museum was surrounded by poster boards telling the stories about a project protesting against - and surgesting alternative use of the area.

Project office

They even made an alternative City Arms Plate..transforming the towers and building into some kind of Lochness lookalike sea monster :D

I´ll give you a link here so you can read more about the project

Art will find its way

Just another day on my way to work

Normaly I reach Copenhagen from the north, but yesterday I came in from the south because I´ve spent the night at friends summer cottage. Stopped on the bridge between the two islands Amager and Sealand. Copenhagen is situated on Sealand. Took the pic at the higest point of the bridge Langebro

Flea market

Sometimes the flea markets move from the shops to the harbour. I like when they do that
