Of Music, Phantom Hourglass, TV, and Blogging

Regarding music, I download free songs from SpiralFrog. I was one of the beta testers and kept with it from there. Reason being: I don't want to pay for music, and I don't want to download illegally. There are a lot of cons though: limited music selection and (my main topic) the files are only provided in Windows Media DRM Protected format. Which is stupid. Veeeeeery stupid. So I tried to download FairUse4WM to remove the DRM protection. I tried over 15 different mirrors before I found one that hadn't been taken down by Microsoft. Once I finally found one that worked, I got an error message. Turns out one of Microsoft's "Recommended updates" messed up FairUse4WM. I wanted to strangle Bill Gates. But then again, Apple isn't much better with it's intentional bricking of unlocked iPhones...
Still on music, today was the first trial for illegally downloading music. The woman maintains that she didn't download the music, stating that "the RIAA plaintiffs weren't required to show that Thomas had a file-sharing program installed on her machine or that she was even the person using the Kazaa account in question." I don't quite understand how they can convict someone of illegally downloading music with barely any evidence against them, and they can't convict someone of murdering two people with tons of evidence against them. Something the head of litigation at Sony BMG struck me as odd though: "making copies of purchased music is just a nice way of saying 'steals just one copy.'" Wow. Isn't making copies of PURCHASED music protected by the DMCA? Now they're trying to take that away? Tsk tsk. I mean, I purchased your lame overpriced music, how about shutting up about it? Meh.
I've been playing Phantom Hourglass the last couple of days. It rules. I still hate the cel-shaded graphics (and probably always will) but the gameplay is awesome.
Also, Pushing Daisies was on last night. It was awesome. Probably because it was narrated by Jim Dale, so I lurved it.
