Less than 1 Day!!!!

*excited*

Yep, all the hard work I have done as a bartender has paid off! Speaking of hard work, my dad visted me at work on Saturday night  He said I work really hard and didn't know it was so busy! Now he feels sorry for me :frown:

On Saturday night, my sister had a bit of a birthday party...Here are some pictures...

The esky on wheels returns!

In Australia, it's not a party unless you have a flood light

The lamp has been demoted since we got our new light fitting...

According to Mr P, this sauce looks like a lobster....or a moose...

If you can't find a stand for your speakers, don't buy one; Use your cat's scratching post

2L of tomato sauce.

People at the party who want to protect their identities

I got a laptop/netbook. It's so little  It was kind of expensive compared to the others in the shop, but it has the biggest keyboard and it is the best looking. There were some for $500 but they looked soooo cheap; not even worth stealing!

I think I'm all packed...but I'm sure I've forgotten something. Such as, making a photocopy of my passport...I guess I can take a photo of it. I was going to take TimTams for people, but I have no room...so no TimTams for people...but, that's good because it will stop them from getting fat  I'm always thinking of the wellbeing of others P:

That's it for now...I'm going to go to my dad's garden club's Christmas party tonight. Old women bake such tasty cakes  The next time you hear form me will probably be in Germany  Bye!

Last night I had a farewell party in a park in the city. I wasn't going to have a farewell, but I thought I should to prove that I can organise soemthing and that I'm not lazy

We packed an esky; it has wheels!!!

The weather didn't look too good as we drove there, but then the sun started shining and luckily, it didn't rain at the party

Standing around the BBQ

My sister knows how to cut up mangoes, so she did a demonstration

There you go

The wheeled esky also doubles up as a seat

Yay I'm not the only one with an old phone!

That's all for now

:D

I went to the doctor today to make sure I'm not going to die. She listened to my heart, poked my stomach...then I got to go next door for a blood test! Oh it was so much fun! I had only had a TINY bit of water to drink in the morning so it took a while for the woman to find some blood. In National Geographic there was an article on China. According to the writer, only 10% of used water is treated. The rest is put back into the water cycle :yuck:

Then I went to the city to get some passport photos (not for my passport, but for general use)....I look like the grumpiest/unhappiest person ever! Then I bought some stuff and saw Dr Karl Kruszelnicki outside the bookshop, signing books. He even had a security guard!

WILDLIFE
Yesterday I cooked tea and required some parsley...I went out the front to the pot where the parsley grows, only to find that it had died :frown: However, I heard something russling in the leaves....

My mum was doing some gardening and picked up a 'stick', only to realise that she was holding this lizard! hahahaha!!

My dad and I went walking yesterday evening and we saw an echidna....and, my dad had a camera

The spikes are really weird looking; they appear to be hollow in the middle.

Echidnas eat termites/ants

We always thought that kids had been demolishing the ants' nests. But it was the echidnas!

One Weeek!!!

One week until I leave Adelaide!!! It's 3 degrees in Germany at the moment! :eyes: I was complaining when it was 15 degrees here last week.

I have lots of stuff to do: do exam, get passport photos, get bank statement stuff, buy presents for people, go to dentist, write to my uni, go to my farewell party, attend to a houseparty, attend to my sister's birthday party, buy jeans, buy battery charger, buy memory card reader, get a student card, print stuff, clean room, pack bag ...and more!

I had my last exam yesterday  I'd prefer not to discuss it as if I did, I'd require counselling :frown:

Ugh the Australian dollar only buys 49 Euro cents! I should have bought Euros in October...I guess I hsould buy them now before the Australian dollar loses MORE value. All students going on exchange to Europe were hoping the Euro would go down in value. Well, it did...but the Australian dollar went down even more in value. So, I have lost more than 1000 Euro!!!! :irked:

Fridge
Does anyone remember the photo of my fridge that I put on here? It was covered with paper and magnets and more paper and about 3 calendars!

I got back from work last Sunday morning....walked into the kitchen and thought I was in another house. Someone had cleaned the fridge!!

For my parents, cleaning the fridge on a Saturday night is great fun!

Light
In Australia, if you have children, the government will give you a 'family contribution' (or something). It's a payment so that you can look after your kids. In previous years, the government gave my family a $130 payment! WOAH! Big money :left: Unfortunately, we're now classified as 'too rich' to get this payment.

We calculated, that as a result of our economic standing we'd be able to get some things fixed. We got an original 1967 toilet fitting changed! On Saturday morning we got a new kitchen light fitting!

The original was from the 80s, broken and hanging off the ceiling...

The 'changing of the light fitting' was such a monumental event on our family's 2008 calendar that we took a photo of the electrician! p:

This is just a piece of marketing....

Nominations are open for the My Opera Awards .... I just realised these existed now!

Have my blog entries ever made you smile?
Have you learnt something about Aussie culture from my blog?
Have you learnt anything from my blog?
Has my blog amused you on rainy days when there is nothing to do and all your friends are hanging out with their significant other and don't have time for you?
Has my blog ever made you laugh?
Did you ever receive a prize from me, for winning a Christmas decoration competition?
Do you like it how my blog isn't just snippits from 'funny' stuff I found on the internet?
Do you think it's cool how I don't take emo photos of myself, play around with the saturation and put them on here?

If you answered YES to any of the above, why not nominate me for 'Best blog by a female''

It would be an honour for me to be nominated. You know, I don't know what I want to be when I 'grow up'...so maybe I can just be famous on the internet? P: You can make it possible!

PS:
Thank you to our friend [URL=http://my.opera.com/sanshan/blog/San, who nominated me

Lately...

Some things that have happened lately:

  • I got sick at work on Saturday night. I wasn't feeling well so I drank a lot of water. I still didn't feel well. Then everything started getting darker...and I got dizzy...my skin felt like it had ants crawling over it... Sat down for a while and still felt horrible, so I went home. I feel better now though

  • On Friday, I was at a masked ball (although I didn't wear a mask). I learnt that it's really hard to walk in high shoes if you have tights on, because they make the shoes slippery.

  • This Friday, there is a BIG party at a mansion in Adelaide (100+ people). The theme is 'dress as something beginning with F'. I was going to go as a fax machine...but I changed my mind and will now be a fairy.

  • I'm still doing exercise WOAH!! :D I can now run without getting puffed out after 1 minute

  • I have been accepted to a German university as an exchange student *jump jump*

  • In 1 month, I'll be in Germany :D

  • I have exams in 2 weeks...I've started learning but it's going to be hard because all my subjects are FINAL YEAR subjects and I'm not in my final year :frown:

That's all for today. Take care of yourselves and make sure to read 'use by' labels
